I can make you the guitar of your dreams, and help you work out what that is, much harder than you think, woods, shapes, pickups, finishes, all are up for discussion, just chat, it’s free until we start cutting wood. Prices typically are similar to my own designs, between £1400 and £2000, Here's a few examples
I have always loved the offset guitar shapes, familiar friends like the Gibson Firebird and Explorer, Fender Jazzmaster and many others that stem from their ethos. In the Gryphon and Phoenix I have designed 2 guitars that are twin brothers, and they can come in super slim solid body or semi hollow. I’ve adapted my headstock design to reflect their exaggerated style, and continue to experiment with woods, finishes and pickup options. I can also use these as a starting point for your own designs, and adapt to suit your taste
I have always been a Tele man at heart, but when I wanted to design my own style of Fender Tele single cut, wanted something a little more balanced, and for weight and accessibility I created something a little slimmer. This core idea has been used for many different guitars and finishes, and I have recently introduced my first double cut guitar from this platform. Guitars were never more comfortable and easy to play, that’s the idea
The Longclaw is a style of Saxon sword, and in that spirit these designs have a slightly more dark and brooding atmosphere, I let my inner metal rock axe wielding side out to create some instruments that have a dollop of attitude and confidence about them, rock and roar motherf..........s !
To create a totally one off look and feel, I also make my own wooden pickup surrounds and scratchplates, knobs, switch tips and regularly add inlays to headstocks and bodies, as well as making my own tone blocks and string blocks out of Bell Bronze, chosen for its resonance.
Finally all my guitars are finished with Shellac varnish, concocted in the Bear Cave, French polished super thin to allow my guitars to show off their natural beauty and grain, and certainly a regular comment is how resonant they are, I have to believe this contributes to their feel and performance,
